PFEIFER employees donate 10,000 Euros

This year once again, the employees from PFEIFER Seil- und Hebetechnik GmbH in Memmingen supported social projects in the region.

The proceeds from a tombola, which the employees held as part of the Christmas Party 2013, formed the basis of the donation. The majority, however, was made up of numerous personal donations and contributions from the PFEIFER employees and was subsequently generously topped up by the management to the considerable sum of EUR 10,000. This sum was donated this year to two different institutions: 2,000 Euros were given to "Kartei der Not" (Registry of the Needy) as part of the donation and auction marathon held by HITRADIO RT 1 during Advent in 2013. The "Kartei der Not", the public social aid scheme for our region of Bavarian Swabia, was founded in 1965 and has been helping people in the region who are in need through no fault of their own for almost 50 years. Support is given amongst other things to needy children and their families, the handicapped and the sick, old people with low pensions, social orphans and people who have been affected by cruel strokes of fate. The remaining 8,000 Euros were donated to the St. Nikolaus children's hospice in Bad Grönenbach. During a small ceremony Dagmar Guggenberger, head of Human Resources at PFEIFER Seil- und Hebetechnik GmbH in Memmingen, and the chairman of the works council Wilhelm Schropp presented the donation to Kirsten Pallacks from the St. Nikolaus children's hospice. Member of the executive board Ms Pallacks was delighted to accept the sum of money, which will be used in the children's hospice for various therapeutic offerings such as water therapy, physiotherapy, music therapy and painting therapy. The St. Nikolaus children's hospice in Bad Grönenbach was opened in March 2007, since when it has been offering a place to turn to and to recuperate to families with children and young people who are incurably ill or who have a limited life expectancy. The institution accompanies the entire family throughout the life and death of the sick child and beyond. Attention is focused not only on the sick children and young people, but also on every member of the family.
