Cable support structures for glass facades from the cable structure specialists
The first pre-tensioned cable net facade was built for the former Hotel Kempinski (now the Hilton) at Munich Airport in 1993. Since then this innovation has put its stamp on glass architecture all over the world. Its cable support structure was developed by PFEIFER Wire Rope and Lifting Technology from Memmingen. The company is one of the founders of the cable structures industry and can boast decades of experience in architecture with lightweight constructions. Whether in New York, Dubai or Peking - the glass facades of numerous department stores, business centres, airports, railway stations, theatres and opera houses all over the world are borne by PFEIFER cable systems. One of the latest examples is the Busan Bank in South Korea. Glazed roofing over open spaces such as in the Q6/Q7 district in Mannheim also belongs to the portfolio of the cable structures specialists from Memmingen. One of PFEIFER's latest facade projects is the so-called Energy City in Qatar. The building complex to the north of the capital city Doha is a business hub for the hydrocarbon industry, which is currently being built as part of the Lusail planned city project. The facade is expected to be completed this summer.
