The edge protection profile is made of shatterproof plastic. The short leg is slightly curved for optimal adaptation to a paper roll. The belt is secured firmly by the moulded lateral guide. The inner air gap in the corner of the profile protects the edge of the load, while the raised side parts keep the strap away from the load.
To protect against damage to the lashing equipment and for the purpose of improved force deflection, the edges of sharp-edged and flat goods must be covered with edge protectors.
Edges are regarded as sharp if the edge radius R is smaller than the diameter of the rope / the thickness of the lifting strap or the round sling / the nominal thickness of the round steel chain (German Social Accident Insurance DGUV rule 109-017).
