Ropes with diameters up to 40mm can be fused and tapered. The separation zone of the rope is heated by electricity and at reaching the right temperature separated and welded by a continuous rotating motion. The result is a closed and clean end termination, preventing the rope against unintentional unravelling. This preparation makes it easier to fit the steel wire rope over a winch or into wedge clamps.
