Non rotation resistant ropes generate high tourques under load, why the rope ends have to be protected against rotation. Typical non-roation wire rope constructions are ropes with e.g. 6, 8, 9 or 10 outer strands. Applications of non rotation resistant ropes are small lifting heigts with multiple reeving or pairwise use of similar right-hand and left-hand rope constructions. To these conditions non rotation resistant ropes reach a long service life.
